SeatGeek enters the big four leagues with deals with the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. Is there more to come? - After previously signing deals with Major League Soccer and several of its teams, the company and its mobile-focused SeatGeek Enterprise platform last November signed its first NFL and NBA primary deals with the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. Both agreements will take effect this fall. SeatGeek, backed by more than $150 million in venture capital and last year’s purchase of Israeli ticketing software company TopTix, intends to pick up more agreements in the big four of North American sports leagues as individual team deals expire. “We’re confident this is just the beginning of a movement across the industry,” said SeatGeek co-founder Russ D’Souza. Learn more about SeatGeek Enterprise

Virtru and SoftBank Bring Easy-to-Use Data Protection to Japanese Enterprises - “Virtru is SoftBank’s go-to data protection solution,” said Kunihiro Fujinaga, Vice President, Enterprise Business Strategy Division at SoftBank. “By providing Virtru to our customers, we believe we can accelerate the move to the cloud by allowing Japanese organizations to easily protect and control sensitive data no matter where it is shared.” By enabling customers to manage access to their encryption keys and maintain exclusive control over where they are stored, Virtruprovides an easy way for organizations around the world to meet data residency and other privacy requirements while using U.S.-based cloud providers like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon to share and store sensitive data. SoftBank’s excitement represents the growing need for easier data protection options like these for international companies. Virtru will continue its global expansion throughout 2018, building on key enterprise wins in Europe, South America, and Asia Pacific. “SoftBank and Virtru share a vision that easy-to-use data protection and access control are critical capabilities for enterprises moving to the cloud,” said John Ackerly, Chief Executive Officer at Virtru. “As we bring our products to rapidly growing markets around the world, we couldn’t imagine a better partner than SoftBank." Contact the Virtru team to learn more

How Ibotta Is Helping Every Day Consumers Save Time And Money - Ibottastarted out by providing rewards for everyday purposes in physical stores like grocery, mass and club store environments. And over time, Ibotta expanded outside of the grocery space into other big box environments with partners like Best Buy, JoAnn Fabrics and Hallmark. And more recently, Ibotta launched cash back rewards for online and mobile purchases so consumers can now start with Ibotta and earn rewards whenever they hail an Uber, book a hotel on Hotels.com, download a song or movie on iTunes or get food or alcohol delivered. Plus, Ibotta users can earn rewards for regular purchases on Amazon, Walmart.com, Jet.com and many other websites. What are Ibotta’s future goals? “To become the preferred, single starting point for all shopping decisions on your mobile device. And to do this not only in the U.S. but around the world. To fulfill our mission of saving everyday consumers time and money -- two of their most precious resources,” Ibotta CEO Bryan Leach concluded.  Learn more about partnering with Ibotta

A new way emerges to cover college tuition - Last fall, Point Loma Nazarene University began offering some of its 4,500 students money to pay for college in exchange for a percentage of their future earnings. The model, known as an income share agreement, requires colleges and students to take a chance on each other, a shared responsibility that attracted Point Loma. “It sends a message to the student that we’re in this with you,” said George Latter, vice president of finance and administrative services at Point Loma. “And unlike a grant, you have the prospect of these funds coming back in and creating a revolving form of financing.” Income share agreements, commonly called ISAs, have generated a lot of buzz since Purdue University introduced its program in 2016. Several private colleges are exploring income shares, according to Vemo Education, a Reston, Virginia, financial services firm that helps create the contracts. In the last month alone, Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, have entered the market. Learn more about how Vemo Education can help your college or university

How Boxed CEO Chieh Huang Makes Quick Decisions - In 2013, when Chieh Huang and his co-founders, Christopher Cheung, Jared Yaman, and William Fong launched bulk grocery e-commerce startup Boxed from his parents' garage in Edison, New Jersey, he says he had no boundaries or strategies in getting things done."I was doing everything at all times of day--emailing constantly, trying to juggle my job, my life," says Huang, who is now married with two children. "But now I compartmentalize my time. As I got older, I finally understood how time is a finite resource and I need to focus on what I'm doing." Become a Boxed retailer or vendor partner

Factual CEO Gil Elbaz on The Need for ‘Neutral’ Data and What it Means for Marketers - Recently, the neutral data category has gone from a misunderstood and underappreciated concept to a growing necessity in the martech ecosystem. An increasing number of companies today are partially or fully re-orienting themselves around the new neutral data model, especially in marketing. There are two ways a company can approach their data and media strategy — purchase media pre-bundled with data, or purchase data independently from media. Those who want transparency and control of the data tend to go with the former and those who prefer the simplest one-stop solution tend to go with the latter. Below, we outline the pros to each approach. Contact the Factual sales team to learn more

SidelineSwap to Award $3K in Scholarship Funds to Student Athletes Who Show Passion for their Sport - Most American families spend between $100 and $499 per month on sports for their kids. Sports like lacrosse, hockey, golf and skiing have always had a high cost barrier to entry, often leaving aspiring athletes unable to pursue their passion. SidelineSwap, an online marketplace that makes it easy to buy and sell sports gear, announces its second annual Gear For a Year Scholarships, offering six $500 scholarships to student athletes to purchase gear for their upcoming season. Applications are open until February 1 and the winners will be announced on March 1, 2018.
